Goya meets Cy Twombly

My art style,

My love of Goya started 

with my relationship with my father and as a point of discussion with my

father.

It is the source and illustration of trauma, loss, fear

horror of violence and also the magical space of dark worlds, woman and

disturbed witches. Pain and sexuality.

Cy Twombly opens up a space on the canvas , he cuts into it

as an arena for freedom and writing   a

place to make a signature in modern colour and size.

I am interested in using the medium of painting as a means

of self, exploration and acceptance.

The violence of Mark making and the incomplete and destroyed

subject matter is apparent in my images.

A fascination of bringing together horror and beauty.

Two different eras

 Both moving towards

modernity and expression and truth in paint.
